So you’re going to renovate your kitchen or bathroom and want to put in new flooring to really complete the space. You’ve come to the right place. You don’t want just any flooring contractor to install new flooring for you. Anyone that’s involved in the business will tell you that flooring installation is an art, Wilton Manors.
Let’s take a look at some of the best flooring design ideas for South Florida.
Ceramic tile may be what you already have – or maybe not. In any case, it’s an affordable option and are durable and require very little maintenance. It’s rated from one to zero based on hardness. It’s very water resistant and is therefore a good flooring option for places like kitchens or bathrooms that are exposed to a lot of moisture.
Sheet vinyl has been increasingly popular lately. It’s also good for high moisture environments like ceramic tile flooring and is very versatile. It can be made to look like hardwood flooring or many other types of flooring if you’re looking for an affordable way to do that.
Porcelain tile is similar to ceramic tile but it’s less porous. It’s also good for high moisture areas like the previous two flooring types are. It’s very durable and looks great. It can also be glazed or unglazed giving it a possible reflective property.
I know interesting right? I bet you haven’t seen much cork flooring lately but it’s really a great option and something to consider if you’re looking for something unique. Cork flooring is waterproof and very comfortable. The surface being what it is may offer protection against slips and falls, which is a boon in high moisture areas. There are many different grain patterns to choose from and it’s even environmentally friendly material! The only real downside is that it must be resealed every 3 years or so.
Speaking of eco-friendly flooring, linoleum is also environmentally friendly. It’s actually made from cork and is therefore water-resistant. It’s also durable and resistant to stains or scratches.
If you want more of an upscale flooring option, consider limestone. It’s a porous stone that will give your space a classic, timeless look. It’s somewhat rare and therefore great if you’re looking to add some personality to the room. Just like cork it needs to be resealed every few years.
